Look Who's Talking Nyow

This is kind of a re-creation of the Cat Dialogue exercise I did around this time last year. Not a lot has changed with our cats; they're still cats, for example. Sushi and Poe don't get along very well, not that they ever did. The following is what I imagine happens every night, just after we go to bed. Almost always, there is the sound of a cat, crying as if lost and alone... somehow, she can't find her way to the bedroom in the dark, it seems.



"Mooommmaaaaa, Daaaaaddyyyyyy... Psst... Kisa? Kisa, that you?"
"...."
"Hey, Kisa? Oh. Hi Sushi."
"Go away, Poe."
"Sushi, do you know where Momma is?"
"She's in bed, Poe. Go away."
"I can't find her, Sushi."
"She's just in bed, they went to bed, stop whining or I swear to Bastet I'll smack you."
"Hey, don't be mean, I smack you too."
"Damn it, that's it!"
"AHH!"
"I told you to leave me alone! Now leave me alone!!"
"Hey, you stop chasing me! I have claws you know!"
"You just go on and leave me alone then."
"Bitch."
"I heard that!!"

"Momma? Daddy? You awake?"
"I'm awake, thanks to you."
"Oh, Kisa, hi! Are Momma and Daddy awake?"
"I think so. They're pretending to sleep. Don't make them move, I'm comfortable."
"Can I get right here?"
"I think somewhere else would be better."
"Psst, hey, Daddy, you awake?"
"βήεσφω, Poe."
"He said my name! Hey, Daddy, you awake? Can I get right here?"
"ØƄŧƽʆǽʯ."
"Yay, cuddle times."
"ØƄŧƽʆǽʯ, Poe."
"Oof. Well that was rude. I'm pretty sure he said he wanted to cuddle."
"I'm pretty sure he didn't."
"Maybe Momma wants to."
"Just settle in one place. Nobody ever asks me to move. I find a spot and I stay there. It's a system. Plus it gets warmer the longer you stay there."
"Here's a spot... Oof. Well darn it all. I just want to cuddle."
